There was a queue when we got there, but the line moved really fast. We were seated in under 10 minutes. This is probably the most authentic Bangalore tiffin I’ve had outside India. In fact, even in Bangalore, a lot of places aren’t this good. This was actually be better than MTR! The idli was pillowy soft, mallige hoovina haage. The Maddur vada was crispy outside and soft inside, and the medu vada was really good too. Chutneys were delicious. And the dosa… exactly how I like it. Thicker yet crispy, great texture and the taste was spot on. Not the paper-thin dosa that you get in so many places now. Everything we tried was amazing. I now have to visit Austin just for this restaurant :-)

Went to BTR with my cousins after visiting Austin for the Ariana Grande concert, and I must say BTR is great! Firstly the server and the staff all speak Kannada and as an overseas Kannadiga, I can’t tell you how special it was for me! I was visiting from Columbus, Ohio but I’ve spent half of my life in Bengaluru so this was something I really cherished. The food was amazing but more than that, I really loved the artwork and decor. It was very telling of how rooted this place was in Karnataka’s rich heritage! I have some pictures attached below! I did try the masala puri which was nice, and my cousins got the Vada and Masala Dosa which was also very tasty. All in all, this definitely was one of the highlights from my Austin trips. The staff even helped us rescue an exhausted baby bird and went out of their way to make sure we were well fed and happy. I think that my favorite parts were definitely the ambience and the restaurant staff and other a close second being the food and the song choices - which were all Kannada songs! What made our visit even more special was the service from Jaya. She was incredibly courteous and welcoming throughout. She greeted us with a warm smile, patiently helped us with the menu, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her friendly and caring attitude made us feel right at home. It is rare to find someone who serves with such genuine warmth and attention, and Jaya truly stood out. The restaurant itself was spotlessly clean. From the dining area to the tables, everything was neat and well maintained, which we really appreciated. The ambience was pleasant and comfortable, with a calm and welcoming atmosphere that made our meal even more enjoyable. It is the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy your food without any worries. Overall, we had a lovely time at Bangalore Tiffin Rooms. Great food, a clean environment, a nice ambience, and excellent service from Jaya made our visit memorable. I'm from Karnataka and currently studying in College Station. I came all the way from College Station to Austin just to visit this place, and it was absolutely worth it. After eating here, I genuinely felt like I was back in Namma Bengaluru. The food was amazing, and most importantly, the vibe was incredible. Our table was served by a lady named Jaya, who was extremely kind and welcoming. Her hospitality made the experience even better. This is a must-visit place for every Kannadiga looking for a taste of home! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I finally tried Bangalore Tiffin Room and absolutely loved it. The food tasted fresh, light, and comforting in the best way. The dosa was excellent, and what I especially appreciated was that it was the authentic style dosa that’s slightly thicker while still being crisp. So many Indian restaurants only serve the ultra paper-thin crispy version, but this felt much closer to the dosas you actually get in Bangalore and South India. The chutneys tasted freshly made, the sambar was flavorful without feeling heavy, and the gulab jamun was soft, warm, and perfect after the meal. You can really tell the food is made with care and attention to quality. The service was also excellent. Everyone was friendly, the restaurant was very clean, and the food arrived at the table surprisingly fast even though everything tasted freshly made. One thing I especially appreciated was their use of bamboo/eco-friendly plates and cups. The whole place feels thoughtful, clean, and environmentally conscious without trying too hard. It adds to the experience and makes the meal feel wholesome overall. Austin really needed a spot like this for authentic Bangalore-style tiffin food. Everything felt simple, c
